Cargo throughput at Vanino Commercial Sea Port (Port Vanino) in January-June remained unchanged, at the level of the last year’s six-month numbers, at 2,738,200 tons, the company said. Freight traffic in June totaled 459,400 tons.
During the reporting period, Port Vanino handled 1,209,300 tosn of export cargo, including 545,000 tons of coal, 498,700 tons of timber cargo, 85,900 tons of non-ferrous metals and 73,100 tons of ferrous metals. Imports totaled 692,800 tons, largely alumina – 659,000 tons. Short sea traffic volume totaled 124,200 tons.
The Vanino - Kholmsk ferry line transported 711,900 tons of cargo. In the reporting period Port Vanino handled 557 ships, including 324 ferries and 28,100 railcars.
JSC Vanino Commercial Sea Port (Port Vanino) is the major operator of the port of Vanino (Khabarovsk Territory). The port is a gateway for trade flows between Russia and Japan, South Korea, China, Australia, USA and other countries of Asia Pacific Region. Vanino also handles imports shipped to the northern regions of Russia. Port Vanino owns the waterfront of about 2.5-km with three specialized cargo handling facilities. In 2011, cargo throughput at Port Vanino terminals shrank 1.7% to 5.9 million tons.
