The Board of Directors of Ust-Luga Company on June 29 appointed strategy and development manager Svetlana Makarova as Acting CEO of JSC Ust-Luga Company, effective from July 2, 2012, the Company’s press service said.
Makarova replaces Maxim Shirokov, former CEO of the Company, who intends to focus on transport and logistics business. At present, his candidacy has reportedly been proposed for election to the Board of Directors of Transport and Logistics Complex (“TLC”).
Svetlana Makarova joined JSC Ust-Luga Company in 1999. In 2001 - 2004 she was First Deputy CEO, Chief Operating Officer. In 2004 - 2005 - First Deputy CEO, development manager. In 2005 - 2007 - First Deputy CEO, Manager of Sea Commercial Port of Ust-Luga project. In 2007 - 2009 – CEO of Ust-Luga Design and Engineering Company and from 2009 - Strategy and Development manager.
JSC Ust-Luga Company was founded in 1992 for implementation of the Port of Ust-Luga project of capacity of 180 million tons of cargo per year. Today the company is implementing a project of the integrated development of the Commercial Port of Ust-Luga and the surrounding area, which involves the creation of five interconnected parks: transport and logistics, industrial, city clusters, recreational and agricultural. The project, which is listed among other priority investment projects of the North-West of Russia, based on the principles of public-private partnership.
