Port of Ust-Luga half-year traffic volume soars 2.1 times

Freight flows passing through the Port of Ust-Luga totaled in January-June 2012 18.86 million tons, up 2.1 times over the same period a year before. Shipments of imported vehicles jumped by 55.7% compared with last year’s numbers, to 81,525 units, the Ust-Luga Company said on Tuesday.

During the reporting period Ust-Luga handled 231,792 railcars, or 1.6 times more than in January-June, 2011.

In 2011, cargo throughput at the Port of Ust-Luga amounted 22,737,260.482 tons and 133,837 cars. Ust-Luga Company is set to boost traffic volume to 180 million tons by 2020.
