The volume of containers hauled by rail operator JSC TransContainer in the first half of 2012 totaled 716,800 TEUs, a 9.6-percent gain from the same period last year. The growth was driven primarily by increased transit cargo and exports traffic, the Company said.
TransContainer, a subsidiary of the state-owned Russian Railways (RZD), was formed on March 4, 2006 on the basis of a RZD’s arm – Center for Cargo Container Traffic.
