Russian Railways (RZD) has resumed movement of cargo railcars on the North-Caucasian Railway, RZD said.
"We have started to dispatch trains to this region, but in limited quantities to ensure the passage of backlog of trains there," said first vice-president of rail monopoly Vadim Morozov.
There is a backlog of more than 100 freight trains on the railroad caused by recent heavy rains and floods that hit the Krasnodar southern region. The authorities have announced some traffic restrictions, of cargoes bound to the Novorossiysk transport hub. There is also a traffic congestion on the neighboring railways.
