Indus Container Lines obtains ISO 9001:2008 certification

NDUS Container Lines (Gujarat) Pvt. Ltd (ICL) has obtained the coveted ISO 9001:2008 certification from UKAS Management Systems, Daily Shipping Times reports.

ICL, part of the Natvar Parikh Group of Companies, is engaged in the fields of NVOCC and shipping agency.  Having a fleet of more than 3,000 TEUs, it operates on various trade lanes, including between (to and from) India and North Continent, India and Arabian Gulf, and India and China.

ICL is also amongst the few Indian companies to operate across various cross trades involving the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East, Far East and Europe. As part of the process of getting the certification, ICL staff and management spent several gruelling monthsfine tuning  the  business  processes and systems. A  major portion of the time taken also went into inculcating contemporary business methods with a new shipping software and refamiliarizing the staff  with  current  shipping procedures.

Commenting on the accomplishment, Mr Sujan Parikh, Managing Director of ICL, said “This is a great achievement by ICL as this certification makes ICL one of the very few NVOCCs to have an ISO 9001 certification.

An ISO certification is a recognition that our business systems and processes are in place. This gives customers the confidence that they are dealing with a truly professional company that provides them with shipping solutions in a transparent way. Customers, therefore, know what to expect each and every time they are dealing with us as per  set  service  parameters.
