Murmansk authorities, investors seal agreement on Murmansk hub

The Murmansk Region Governor Marina Kovtun and companies-investors signed on July 12, 2012 at the Murmansk regional government office an agreement on the construction of a coal terminal and the railway line on the west coast of the Kola Bay, the region’s government press office said.

The Murmansk Transportation Node investment agreement provides for the laying of the Vikhodnoy-Lavna railway branch line, deepening of the bay waters and construction of the harbor vessels base.

These projects will receive funding from the federal budget and are scheduled for completion no later than 2015. In the period from 2015 to 2018 a complex of coal terminal and rail access road to the facility are to be put into operation in several phases.  Sea Commercial Port Lavna Ltd. will invest in the coal terminal project RUB 14.5 billion.
