JSC Power Machines has successfully handled the third shipment of heavy-lift equipment, manufactured by the company and intended for Sayano-Shushenskaya Dam (SSH HPP), which is being restored after an accident that occurred at the hydroelectric power station in 2009.
The heavy components for SSH HPP were loaded onto the M.V Arsenal on the dock at the Sverdlovskaya embankment in St. Petersburg. The heavy-lift cargo will be transported by intermodal transport, including sea-going and river vessels, tractor-trailers, to the point of destination in at least 35 - 40 days. The total route length is about 5900 km.
The contract for manufacturing of energy generating units for the hydroelectric power station was signed by Power Machines and JSC RusHydro in November 2009. The Power Machines will manufacture 10 hydro turbines and 9 hydroelectric generators of capacity of 640 MW, as well as six excitation systems. The specialists of Power Machines will service the equipmen, including installation, supervision and commissioning. The contract is worth RUB 11.7 billion (excl. VAT).
