Jaya Holdings, an offshore services provider, secured shipbuilding contracts worth some $84m to deliver two anchor handling tug and supply vessels (AHTSVs), Seatrade Asia online reports.
Jaya Shipbuilding and Engineering, wholly-owned by Jaya, will build a 5,150 bhp AHTSV and a 16,000 bhp AHTSV.
“Despite the volatility in the global financial markets, Jaya is pleased to be able to secure new contracts and continue to win charters,” said Venkatraman Sheshashayee, ceo and executive director of Singapore-listed Jaya.
Jaya believed that it is well positioned to ride on the offshore support vessels cycle upturn when it happens with new contract wins and key strategies in place.
