The Russian Government considered it expedient to build the port Sabetta. The port construction is necessary for the handling of hydrocarbons from South-Tambeyskoye deposits on the Yamal Peninsula and shipments of natural gas, crude oil and gas condensate to Western Europe, North and South America and the Asia-Pacific region.
The federal government instructed the Russian Ministry of Economic Development to submit within two months a draft decree on naming the seaport, and the Ministry of Transport to prepare within six months the draft project on establishing the port’s boundaries.
