Freight traffic passing though the port of Vysotsk in the first half of this year decreased by 12% compared to January-June 2011, to 6,180,600 tons, the Port Authority of St. Petersburg said.
Coal and coke exports during the reporting period fell 20% to 1,283,800 tons, shipments of oil products totaled 4,896,800 tons (-9%).
Port of Vysotsk is located in the Leningrad region. There are two stevedoring companies operating at the port: Port Vysotsky LLC and RPK-Vysotsk-Lukoil-II LLC. In 2011, cargo throughput at the port amounted to 13.42 million tons. In May 2012, the Russian government changed the limits of Vysotsk through the inclusion of land plots and adjacent water area, where a general cargo terminal of capacity of 3 mln tons is being constructed (on Putevoy Cape).
