Vietnamese oil and gas corporation Petrovietnam is prepared to participate in the production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Siberia and the Far East, according to materials prepared for today's negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Vietnamese counterpart Truong Tan Sang, RBC reports.
Petrovietnam has taken an interest in Gazprom's Eastern program, which calls for producing and exporting LNG, according to the materials.
Gazprom and Petrovietnam registered the Gazpromviet joint venture in September 2010 pursuant to their agreement dated December 2009. The JV was issued an oil and gas E&P license in Russia.
