Port of Nakhodka cargo traffic rises 11.6 percent
Cargo throughput at the Port of Nakhodka in January-November 2012 rose 11.6% year-on-year, to 15.25 million tons, the Port Authority statistics said.
Oil product exports rose 8.1% from last year’s numbers, to 6.53 million tons, shipments of anthracite cargo increased by 12.8% to 3.89 million tons. Ferrous metal volume rose 21.7% to 3.47 million tons, shipment of non-ferrous metal grew 19.6% to 473,000 tons, while handling of timber cargo fell 14.4% to 432,300 tons.
Container traffic soared by 5.6 times to 10,980 TEUs.
Russian Port of Nakhodka is located in the northern Bay of Nakhodka. The year-round navigable port is connected via Trans-Siberian Railroad with the entire network of Russian and Western Europe’s railroads. In 2011, trade flows passing through the Port of Nakhodka totaled 14.98 million tons.
