In 2008, rail ferry service Baltjisk-Sassnitz carried 1,200 wagons including 6000 wagons from Germany to Russian consignees, Russian Railways reports.
This ferry service is mainly used for transportation of cars, automotive engineering, construction cargo, paper. Oil products are delivered to Ust-Luga-Baltijsk for further transportation by tankers. The Baltijsk ferry with the capacity of 99 wagons operates at Baltijsk-Ust-Luga service once in four days.
