Russian Railways (RTS: RZHD) (RZhD) is expected to sign a trilateral agreement with Spanish partners aimed at expanding cooperation on high-speed movement, management systems and hi-tech cooperation within the framework of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to Spain.
"In particular the issue is about automatic systems of changing track gauge," RZD President Vladimir Yakunin said.
The Spanish side has experience of changing track gauge at a speed of up to 20 kilometers per hour, which is interesting to Russia, he said. "Moreover, we are interested in management systems of high-speed movement," Yakunin added.
"The Spanish side is interested in the Russian market and the possibilities to work in winter conditions," he said.
"This will allow to expand cooperation with Spanish companies and to continue our line at integrating Russian and European railroads," he concluded.
