Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. has appointed Rafi Danieli as its new president and CEO. The move comes less than 48 hours after Doron Goder announced his resignation over differences of opinion with the owners Sami and Idan Ofer. Danieli, 57, has been serving as Zim's deputy CEO and CFO. Sami and Idan Ofer of Ofer Group, which controls Zim through Israel Corp. (TASE:ILCO) told its board of directors that Goder recommended Danieli as his successor, and that he will fully cooperate in handing over leadership of the company to his former deputy.
Zim chairman Idan Ofer said, "Rafi Danieli is a natural appointment. He knows Zim inside out and has accumulated enormous experience in a wide range of positions.
Danieli has held various positions at Zim for over 31 years. He has been CFO for the past 12 years and deputy CEO for the past three years.
