According to the plan, the city will focus on building three main complex logistics networks in Qianwan, Konggang and Jiaozhou Bay and will increase the proportion of Qianwan's box transshipment volume of the port's total from 10 per cent to 40 per cent. Centring on Qingdao port, a port cluster consisting of Qianwan's neighbouring medium and small-size ports will be created to develop container transshipment services.
The city will boost the construction of Jiaozhou Container Rail Hub and put it into service in 2010 with a plan to offer 24 box freight trains by 2012, based on the outline of road-rail intermodal transport network around Jiaozhou.
