In January 2009, stevedoring companies of the Leningrad region operating within the Gulf of Finland handled some 8.8 million tonnes of cargo (+3%, year-on-year), press center of Leningrad Region Administration reports.
Cargo handling in the port of Ust-Luga increased 1.8 times to 707,000 tonnes of cargo including 621,700 tonnes of coal (up 2.2 times), 14,400 tonnes of timber. Automobile-rail ferry complex transported 36,500 tonnes of general cargo. Multipurpose transshipment complex handled over 30,000 tonnes of metal, multi-functional transport complex – 4,2000 tonnes of ro-ro cargo.
Port Vysotsk handled some 1.5 million tonnes of cargo (+3.2%, year-on-year) including 1.13 million tonnes of cargo handled at the oil terminal (+3%), 314,700 tonnes – at the coal terminal (+15.3%). Port Vyborg increased transshipment by 22% to 95,500 tonnes. Port Primorsk handled 6.5 million tonnes of export crude and oil products.
