CMA to rationalize SIRIUS service

CMA CGM has decided to rationalize its SIRIUS service between the Mediterranean, West Africa and the East Coast of South America as of 12th March.
The two loops of the service will be merged into one single string, operated with seven 4,200 TEU vessels.
CMA CGM will provide two container vessels in the fleet. The new rotation will be as follows: Valencia - Taragona - Barcelona - Livorno - Vado Ligure - Malta - Dakar - Rio de Janeiro - Santos - Buenos Aires - Montevideo - Rio Grande - Paranagua - Santos - Rio de Janeiro - Pecem - Valencia.
" With this rationalization, the current capacity deployed in the SIRIUS service will be reduced by almost 40% ", explains Jean-Yves Duval, Deputy Vice-President Latin America Lines. "The service will nevertheless maintain a large port coverage and will keep serving Dakar, a particularly important call for CMA CGM."
This new rationalization is part of the CMA CGM policy to adapt its services to the market demand.
