Throughput of Big Port of St. Petersburg down 29% to 6.1 mln t in Jan-Feb 09

In January-February 2009, Big Port of St. Petersburg handled 6.1 million tonnes of cargo (-29%, year-on-year). In the reported period transshipment of oil products amounted to 1.804 million tonnes, which is close to the result of Jan-Feb 08. Turnover of other cargo fell to 4.2967 million tonnes.

In 2008, Big Port of St. Petersburg handled 59.945 million tonnes of cargo with turnover of vessels amounting to 29,647 units. Over 20 stevedoring companies work in the port.
