Export of oil products via seaport Primorsk up 5% to 12.6 mln in Jan-Feb 09

In January-February 2009, port Primorsk increased transshipment of export oil products by 5%, year-on-year, to 12.615400 million tonnes, the port informs. According to PortNews IAA some 93% of the total throughput falls on oil, the rest – on diesel fuel.
Commercial seaport Primorsk was put into operation on December 27, 2001 as the final stage of the first phase of Baltic Pipeline System (BPS) aimed at oil transportation from Timano-Pechersk and West-Siberian oil-and-gas provinces as well as from Kazakhstan. Primorsk is the largest port in the North-West region of Russia to export crude and oil products. In 2008, 75.58 million tonnes of oil cargo was exported via the port of Primorsk.
