ULCT gets green light for dangerous goods handling
Ust-Luga Container Terminal (ULCT) has been certified for Dangerous Goods Handling on the railways, National Container Company (NCC) press release said.
The permanent hazardous materials handling certificate greatly enhances the terminal capabilities for transshipments of different cargo nomenclature via on-dock railyard.
Earlier, the terminal operator announced it would switch to the round-the-clock shift, effective March 1.
NCC Group owned Ust-Luga Container Terminal (ULCT) is a container terminal based in the port of Ust-Luga. The ULCT encompasses 40 ha, The facility’s first phase annual capacity is 440 000 TEUs, total berths length – 440 m, depth alongside – 13.5 m, storage capacity – 78,700 TEU, reefer plugs – 6,000. The fleet of handling equipment includes 4 STS (Panamax), 11 RTG and 2 RMG. The facility is projected to reach its maximum capacity (2.85 million TEU) by 2025. ULCT is managed by NCC and EUROGATE, Europe´s leading container terminal and logistics group.
