Admiralty Shipyards (St. Petersburg) as a part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (OSK) will be in charge of technical execution of orders, the attraction and financing of which will be within the competence of the Corporation. According to the company’s press center, everything necessary for successful execution of orders including personnel is available at the shipyard. As of today, the shipyard’s workforce exceeds 6,000 people. No personnel reduction is planned by the company as the shipyard’s backlog of orders is full till 2011. Moreover, 28 graduates of the State Marine Technical University of St.Petersburg have come to the shipyard this year. A special-purpose program aimed at training specialists for Admiralty Shipyards has been being implemented by the University for several years. The program financed by Admiralty Shipyards currently involves 350 students. In February 2009, about 100 employees returned to the shipyard because of the crisis which struck the small and medium business. Earlier Vladimir Putin said that all arrangements for setting up the United Shipbuilding Corporation must be completed by April 1. Putin also said a Decree on transfer of other 19 enterprises to United Shipbuilding Corporation was to be signed.
