Throughput of Evpatoria seaport (Ukraine) more than doubles to 86,827 t in March’13

In March 2013, Commercial Seaport of Evpatoria (Ukraine) handled 86,827 tonnes, which is more than twice as high as in the same period of the previous year, the stevedoring company informs.

In the accounting period, the port handled 55 including 15 ferries and 4 vessels with general cargo, while in March 2012 only 22 vessels were handled at the port. 

In the first quarter of the year the company increased its throughput by 50% and more: import (general cargo) – 103,965 tonnes (against 60,216 tonnes in 2012); export (general cargo) – 91,678 tonnes (against 67,570 tonnes in 2012); transit (general cargo) – 79,553 tonnes (against 49,116 tonnes); coastal trade cargo (dry loose cargo) – 14,975 tonnes (against 2,800 tonnes);
 
The result of the first quarter was over 10,000 tonnes ahead of the plan.

Commercial Seaport of Evpatoria is located in the northern part of Kalamitskiy Bay (Black Sea). The navigation lasts round the year as the port does not freeze. There is a ferry terminal for transshipment of general cargo and servicing passengers.
