Rosneft’s participation in the development of Murmansk Transportation Hub and supply of liquefied gas to the region has been recently discussed at the meeting between Murmansk Governor Marina Kovtun and Rosneft President Igor Sechin, press center of the regional government informs.
Rosneft is one of the shareholders of the project’s managing company.
“Until recently, Rosneft did not display any significant level of activity in the company. Now, however, Igor Ivanovich [Sechin] speaks about the surged interest in the project and that his company will participate not only as shareholder but also register as resident in the Economic Port Zone”, Governor Kovtun says.
As it was earlier reported by IAA PortNews, the state-owned facilities of the project on comprehensive development of MTH include the facilities of railway and sea infrastructure including the public railway line, the service fleet base at the western shore of the Kola Bay and dredging works within the water area of Murmansk seaport.
Land plots have been allocated for the project facilities and technical specifications have been obtained for their technological connection to electricity / heating / water supply and water disposal networks.
The project is financed the RF budget within the framework of the federal special-purpose program “Development of Russian Transport System (2010 - 2015)”.
The shareholders of the Managing Company Murmansk Transportation Hub are Murmansk Commercial Seaport OJSC (40%), Rosneft OJSC (15%), Russian Railways OJSC (25%), Murmansk Region Government (5%) and FSUE Rosmorport (15%).
