Tanker fleet of Prime Shipping opens navigation at Russian inland water ways (photo)

The first convoy of Prime Shipping tankers assisted by the Irakl tug-boat (Ice-2) arrived in the river port of Samara on April 5 at 10 a.m., IAA PortNews learnt from the shipping company.

In navigation 2013, Prime Shipping plans to carry some 2.5 mln t of Russia export oil products along the inland water ways of Russia. The volume of cargo transportation is expected to grow by some 25%, year-on-year. 

The company attributes the positive dynamics to the development of its own fleet. This year the company will deploy 25 vessels including 2 new vessels built in late 2012.

Samara region-based Prime Shipping Ltd. is a subsidiary of Pietro Barbaro (Italy). The shipping company was acquired by Pietro Barbaro in January 2006. The company is engaged primarily in shipping of crude oil and petroleum products.
