On March 28, shipyard Krasnoye Sormovo launched the Samur River, the 6th tanker of project RST22, New Armada type built for Palmali Group, the shipyard reports.
Ten tankers are supposed to be built in the series. The lead ship Kura River was launched in March, 2008 and handed over to the customer in July, 2008, the second vessel Nasiba Zeynalova was handed over in August, 2008, the third ship Bashir Safaroglu - in September, 2008, the fourth tanker Azar River - in December, 2008. Vilesh River was launched in January 2009.
The design was worked out by Marine Engineering Bureau (Odessa, Ukraine). Vessels obtain additional sign in the class symbol - EKO Project. This sign is indicative of additional requirements for pollution prevention at accidents. Environmentally safe vessels find credence of freight owners, maritime administration and port authorities.
The fleet of Palmali numbers over 120 own and rented vessels. The company specializes in transportation of oil products, crude, edible and commercial oils. The company also has dry cargo carriers.
