State financing of transport infrastructure to be cut by 28% in 2009 – Igor Levitin

State financing of transport infrastructure from the federal budget will be cut by 28% to RUR 373 bln in 2009, Interfax cites RF Transport Minister Igor Levitin as telling journalists in Moscow.

“According to the federal budget for 2009, the volume of resources envisaged for transport infrastructure within and outside the framework of the federal special-purpose program amounts to RUR 516 bln,” Igor Levitin said.

However he says the bill on introduction of amendments into the federal budget envisages reduction of resources for this program to RUR 373 bln. So the reduction will make 28%. It should be reminded that the development of Russia’s transport infrastructure is included into the list of state priorities for the mid-term perspective.
