In January-March, 2013, Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port OJSC handled 1.106 mln t of cargo (+34.8%, year-on-year), the company says.
In the accounting period, export gained 22.3% to 698,200 tonnes including 566,600 of dry cargo (+29%), 486,300 tonnes of general cargo (+32.9%) and 131,600 tonnes of liquid bulk cargo, which stayd at the level of January-March 2012. Transshipment of import cargo increased 1.7 times to 407,900 tonnes.
The company’s container throughput fell by 28.9% to 16,130 TEUs.
Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port JSC is the largest enterprise of the regional port complex. Practically all means of transport and the basic part of the export-import freight traffic passing through the region, close in the port. In 2012, the port’s throughput fell by 3.31%, year-on-year, to 3.31 mln tonnes.
