BMT’s ASSERT secures further work with the Ministry of Defence
BMT DSL 1BMT Defence Services (BMT), a subsidiary of BMT Group, has won a contract with the UK Ministry of Defence, Defence Equipment and Support (MOD DE&S) Quality Safety and Environmental Protection (QS&EP) Group, to further enhance its Safety and Environmental Reporting Tool, ASSERT and provide it across all DE&S Operating Centres, said in the company's press release.
Originally developed for the UK MOD Air Support Operating Centre, ASSERT is currently helping to improve the efficiency and quality of safety and environmental performance reporting within four key Operating Centres (Air Support, Combat Air, Helicopters and Ships).
BMT DSL 2Jon Carter, Systems Manager at DE&S QS&EP: “The roll-out of ASSERT across DE&S presents a great opportunity in terms of delivering Safety and Environmental performance reporting efficiencies to the organisation. QS&EP are looking forward to working with BMT over the duration of the contract and expanding the usage of the tool to fully utilise its capabilities.”
ASSERT is a flexible and dynamic system which enables MOD Administrators to set and update the required reporting criteria, allowing the MOD to easily adapt to changing safety and environmental policies and processes much more seamlessly. The ASSERT technical infrastructure has also been designed to integrate and report data from other existing MOD systems and data sources.
BMT DSL 3Sam Dorling, Project Manager at BMT Defence Services comments: “We’re delighted to be continuing to help the UK MOD improve the efficiency of its safety and environmental performance reporting. Over the next couple of years, we will work closely with the MOD to better understand their changing priorities and requirements to ensure that ASSERT continues to align with their needs.
This contract further demonstrates our capability to provide the UK MOD with innovative and cutting edge software solutions which reduces the costs and timescales required for the MOD to meet its business processes.”
BMT will deliver an upgraded version of ASSERT to all DE&S Operating Centres in April 2013, providing on-site training at a number of MOD locations. BMT will also be responsible for helpdesk support over the next three years.
Sam Dorling continues: “The generic nature of the features and benefits ASSERT provides, as well as its flexible customisation capabilities, means that it can be utilised by organisations in other industries where safety and environmental monitoring and performance reporting is required.”
