Rosprirodnadzor has issued a negative environmental impact statement for the project on the construction of a seaport in Teriberskaya Bay (within the framework of an investment project “Comprehensive development of Shtokman gas condensate field. Phases 2 and 3»), Rosprirodnadzor says in its press release.
The environmental assessment was initiated by the project customer Gazprom Dobycha Shelf LLC.
A seaport for LNG transshipment is planned to be built in the Murmansk region, on the Barents Sea coast at Teriberskaya Bay. Gazprom Dobycha Shelf LLC is the customer of the project on the port designing and construction. The functions of the general designer of port facilities and surrounding utility infrastructure are in the competence of Giprospetsgaz OJSC. Subcontract for designing LNG and condensate storage/shipment facilities was awarded to American company Chicago Bridge and Iron, while a subcontract for designing of general port infrastructure – to Lenmorniiproect OJSC.
