Tug boat with two bodies of crewmembers lifted from Neva bottom

RBT-300 tug boat which sank in the Neva was lifted. The bodies of two crewmembers are found in the deckhouse, press center of St. Petersburg emergency department says. 

The lifting operation involved 19 technical units (including 12 boats) and 65 persons. In particular, 160-tonne floating crane, 2 specialized tug boats of SUE Pilarn (to be used in case of diesel fuel leakage from the sunk vessel) and multi-functional ice class tug boat Nevskaya Zastava protecting the operation site from possible drifting ice were applied.

As it was reported earlier, on April 19, 2013, the RBT-300 tug boat owned by Atachi LLC crashed into the Palace Bridge pillar and sank. A criminal case was initiated in compliance with Clause 3 of Article 263 of RF Criminal Code.

According to  the North West branch of the State supervisory department for sea and river transport, the accident is not ranked as transport accident as the navigation of 2013 has not been announced at the Neva yet. It happened during the technological (construction) operations ordered by Pilon CJSC .
