First call of MSC Musica kicks off cruising season at St. Petersburg Port "Marine Façade" May 2
The arrival of cruise ship MSC Musica (shipowner and operator MSC Cruises SA) on May 2, 2013 at JSC Passenger Port of St. Petersburg "Marine Façade" opens this year’s cruising season, the Managing Company Marine Façade’s President Serik Zhusupov told PortNews.
This year, the Marine Façade expects a 9-percent growth in cruise ships arrivals, to 240 ships.
JSC Passenger Port St. Petersburg "Marine Façade" is 100%-owned by St. Petersburg government and is the largest marine passenger port in Russia. Construction of Marine Façade began in 2006. Currently, the passenger terminal can accommodate cruise and ferry ships of 311 meters in length and a draft of up to 9 meters. The length and depth of new access channels is 10 km and 11 meters. The port operates seven piers. The quay wall length is 2171.06 m. In 2011, passenger traffic at Marine Façade was 405,200 people.
