Cargo traffic of Freight One up 20% to 58.6 mln t in QI'13
In January-March 2013, the volume of cargo transported in wagons operated by Freight One OJSC by Russian Railways network reached 58.6 mln t (+20%, year-on-year), Freight One says in its press release. The company’s share in total transportations by the network of Russian Railways increased from 14.2% to 17.8%.
In particular, coal transportation grew by 13.0% to 19.2 mln t, crude and oil products – by 2.5% to 10.2 mln t, cement – by 1.3% to 3.1 mln t. Transportation of ferrous metal surged 2.4 times to 5.2 mln t.
At the same time, transportation of construction cargoes fell by 6.2% to 5.3 mln t.
Freight One is the largest private rail freight operator in Russia. Freight One possesses over 190,000 units of rolling stock. The structure of Freight One is made up of 14 sub-offices, which deliver services to customers across the whole railway network in Russia. In Ukraine and Finland the Company is represented by Freight One Ukraine and Freight One Scandinavia.
In 2012 Freight One joined UCL Rail, which is the railway division of UCL Holding - an international transport group. The group unites several large railway operators with a broad network, as well as stevedoring companies in the north-west and south of the country, along with Volga, North-Western and Western Shipping Companies, plus some other shipping and logistics assets.
