Throughput of Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port up 35% to 1.523 mln t in Jan-Apr’13
In January-April 2013, Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port handled 1.523 mln t of cargo (+35.3%, year-on-year), states the stevedoring company.
In the accounting period, export climbed by 19% to 964,500 tonnes including 777,100 tonnes of dry cargo (+21%, year-on-year), 674,100 tonnes of general cargo (+26%, year-on-year), 187,400 tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+11%, year-on-year). Import boosted 1.8 times to 555,100 tonnes.
The company’s container throughput fell by 26% to 22,742 TEUs.
Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port JSC is the largest enterprise of the regional port complex. Practically all means of transport and the basic part of the export-import freight traffic passing through the region, close in the port. In 2012, the port’s throughput fell by 3.31%, year-on-year, to 3.31 mln tonnes.
