Port Sabetta obtains official name (map)
RF Government Decree No 374 dated April 25, 2013 provides the name “Sabetta” to a new seaport being built in Nenets autonomous region on the shore of the Ob Bay (Kara Sea). According to the statement of FSUE Rosmorport, earlier Decree of RF Government (No 242-r dated 26.02.2013) defined the port boundaries.
Seaport Sabetta is being built in compliance with the Decree of RF Government dated 13.07.2012 No 1259-r to ensure transshipment of crude hydrocarbons of the South Tambey (Tambeyskoye) gas field in the Yamal peninsula and supply of natural gas, oil and gas condensate by marine transport to the countries of the West Europe, North and South America as well as Asia-Pacific region.
FSUE Rosmorport represented by its Arkhangelsk Branch as a construction manager participates in construction of the following federally-owned facilities in the seaport: approach canal; water area of auxiliary berths; nonfloating aids to navigation (front and rear leading marks); control and correction station GLONASS/GPS (station of differential corrections).
In 2012, the attracted subcontractor executed dredging works within the port water area with total volume of extracted soil exceeding 1.5 mln cubic meters.
No dredging works at Sabetta port are being carried out now because of the ice situation. They are to be resumed in July when the water area of the Ob Bay is free of ice.
