Throughput of port Yuzhny (Ukraine) up 14.3% to 8.46 mln t in Jan-Apr’13
In January-April, 2013, Commercial Sea Port Yuzhny (Ukraine) handled 8,465,400 tonnes of cargo (+14.3%, year-on-year), the company’s press center informs.
Transshipment of transit cargo reached 2.984 mln t (+ 6.5%, year-on-year).
Ore cargoes account for a big share in the port turnover – 4,671,800.
In the 4-month period the port handled 292 vessels and 69,742 wagons.
In April the port handled 2,101,700 tonnes of cargo (+ 4.4%, year-on-year), 72 vessels and 17,941 wagons.
Yuzhny port is located at the north-western coast of the Black Sea, in ice-free Maly Adzhalyksky (Grigorievsky) estuary, 30 km from Odessa port. The port’s approach channel is 3 miles long and 14 meters deep. In 2012, throughput of the port’s stevedoring company Commercial Sea Port Yuzhny totaled 22.72 mln t.
