ENI (Italy) and Calik Energy (Turkey) to start building Samsun-Ceyhan pipeline in Q1, 2010
Italian gas major ENI and Turkish Calik Energy plan to begin building pipeline to transport Caspian oil to the Mediterranean states and the Middle East in the first quarter of the next year, Oil Capital reports.
The Italian side is to finance 100 percent of the pipeline which is valued at $4 bln. First oil will be delivered from Eni’s Kazakh oil fields in Kashagan and Karachaganak, the company reports. The pipeline will run from the port of Samsun energy hub of Ceyhan (Mediterranean) bypassing the Black Sea (Black Sea) to the straits.
