Installation of turning machinery completed at draw span of Palace Bridge (St. Petersburg)
From May 20, 2013, automobile traffic opens at 4 lanes of the Palace Bridge in St. Petersburg. According to Pilon, the company engaged in the bridge reconstruction, the repair of metal structures, assembling of turning machinery and control system of the draw span as well as road works have been completed by now.
The company continues the repair works at fixed spans (2 lanes at the upstream side are still closed). Pedestrian traffic is arranged along the downstream side of the bridge (the side of the Gulf of Finland).
Before the reconstruction is finished, traffic is closed at the bridge from 22.30 to 6.30 on week days and on week ends. Start-up and adjustment of the turning machinery and bridge raising will be held in the nearest time.
