RTL launches automobile storing service at customs facilities of Novaya Gavan (Ust-Luga)
RTL Group has launched an automobile storing service at customs storage facilities of Novaya Gavan terminal (port Ust-Luga, Leningrad region), IAA PortNews learnt from Denis Chesnokov, RTL Sales and Marketing Director. “The newly launched service allows storing of automobiles for 3 years without customs payments. It is the same practice as in Kotka (Finland) and Paldiski (Estonia). For customers it is the opportunity not only to store automobiles for 3 years but also to easily export cars if they encounter sales problems.”
Russian Transport Lines Co. LTD (RTL, Moscow) was set up in 2004 as a full service logistics company. It specializes in search for optimal logistics solutions as regards import of transport, specialized equipment, components and auto plant equipment. In 2006, the first Russian terminal for acceptance of vehicles was opened in St. Petersburg by RTL under partnership with Sea Fishing Port. In 2011, RTL opened a sea terminal Novaya Gavan in Ust-Luga port. Private investments in the project implementation totaled RUR 1.5 bln. RTL intends to invest RUR 3 bln more into the project development till 2014. The volume of state investment till 2014 is to make RUR 2.5 bln.
