Vancouver IFO380 stays at a discount to Singapore

IFO380 bunkers in Vancouver on Thursday continued to be priced at a discount to Singapore of around $4 to $5 per metric tonne (pmt), making it an eight market day run that started on June 11, 2013, and the longest such run this year.

Data from Ship & Bunker shows prices in Vancouver for IFO380 fell $2.50 to $604.50 pmt, while in Singapore the product was down $2.00 to $609.00 pmt to put its premium at $4.50.

After being closely priced at several points during January, the premium for the 380 cSt product in Vancouver widened to over $50 pmt in February, before narrowing to just $0.50 on May 1, 2013.

Since then, the Canadian West Coast port managed a discount to Singapore of $6 and $3 on May 21 and May 29 respectively, and a discount that widened to as much as $8 during a run of 6 market days that started on May 3.
