Anatoly Lazarev, managing director of Russia’s largest coal terminal Vostochny Port OJSC (Primorsk Territory) held a meeting with the trade union officials on August 23. According to the company’s press center, the president of Russian Confederation of Labour, member of the Council RF President for Development of Civil Society and Human Rights, member of Russian trilateral commission Boris Kravchenko and LO Moscow Office Senior Specialist in Workers'Activities Sergeyus Glovackas visited Primorsk Territory within the framework a working trip.
According to them, Vostochny Port OJSC is a company which succeeds in implementation of different social programmes. The guests discussed the issues of social partnership.
Vostochny Port management regularly allocates finances for implementation of programmes additional to those set forth by collective labour agreement. Anatoly Lazarev said that over RUB 16 mln were allocated for social programmes in the first half of 2013.
The employer also implements large-scale programmes on skill improvement and creation of personnel reserve basing on educational institutions of the Russian Federation and at the company’s own training center.
JSC Vostochny Port is the major stevedoring company of Russia specializing in coal transshipment. As of today, export coal (mainly coal mined in Kuzbass) accounts for 98.5% of the company’s turnover with 1.5% of the coastal trade coal and 0.01% of other cargoes. The company’s assets include a Specialized Coal Terminal with conveyer equipment system and railcar unloading station and a Universal Handling Terminal which specializes in clamshell coal handling. The Terminals’ annual capacities are 14.2 mln tonnes and 3 mln tonnes respectively. JSC Vostochny Port operates a fleet of harbor tugs able to berth 150dwt ships. Throughput of Vostochny (excluding the results of Special Oil Port of Kozmino) climbed by 13.3% to 26.43 million tonnes in 2012.
