Passenger Port of St. Petersburg "Marine Façade”, preparing for the 2013 G-20 Russia summit, has deployed at Pier 1 the pontoons, which will be used for the mooring of river ships carrying journalists to the summit venue in the Constantine Palace on the Gulf of Finland, the Marine Façade press service said.

The port authorities, pilotage services and Russian Cruises today, August 28, 2013, conducted a testing mooring of the high-speed catamaran Mercury to the pontoon.

Meanwhile, the passenger port receives five cruise ships - Norwegian Star, Arcadia, Marina, Grand Mistral and the Saga Ruby. The total number of passengers on board the ships is 7,700 people.

JSC Passenger Port of St. Petersburg "Marine Façade" is in the ownership of the city of St. Petersburg and is the largest passenger seaport in Russia. Construction of Marine Façade began in 2006. The port can accommodate cruise and ferry ships of up to 330 m long and with a draft of up to 8.8 m. The length and depth of new access channels - 10 km and 11 m, accordingly. The port operates seven piers. The quay wall length is 2,171.06 m.
