Laky Verf to launch 14M police patrol boat Nikolai Nikiforov

Shisselburg, Leningrad region based Laky Verf tomorrow, September 3, 2013, will launch a high-specification police patrol boat of modified project 14M (Yard No 05) named "Nikolai Nikiforov", the shipbuilder said Monday in a statement.

The boat was ordered by North-Western District Logistics Department of the Russian Interior Ministry.

The high-speed patrol boat is designed for inspection as part of mobile police units of littoral zones and rivers with police squads on board.

Upon successful trials the boat will be delivered to a customer in Russia’s southern region.

The mixed ‘river-sea’ class vessel is able to patrol the coastal marine areas and the mouths of large rivers. The boat is equipped for long-term operations in adverse weather conditions, to navigate in low visibility. The boat has increased fuel tanks capacities (by 1.5 million liters) enabling the vessel to perform long passages without stopovers for refueling.

The boat has two cabins (bow and stern), the accommodations for 5 police at night and 10 personnel in the daytime.

Laky Verf Ltd. based at Nevsky Shipyard owns its own production facilities. Since 2005, the company has been building steel and aluminum motor luxury yachts complying with the European standards and belonging to the A-Ocean Class. The vessels are being built under the survey of Bureau Veritas. Interior and exterior of the yachts are developed by the famous Dutch designers Guido de Groot (Guido de Groot Design) and Frank Laupman (Omega Architects).
