NOL names Bruno Sidler to Board of Directors

NOL Group announced the appointment of Bruno Sidler to its Board of Directors. Mr Sidler is the Chief Operating Officer of market expansion services group DKSH Holding Ltd., which is listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange, the Group said Monday in a press release.

Mr Sidler will join the NOL Board on 16 September 2013 and he will serve as a member of the Executive Committee of the Board. On the same day, Olivier Lim will step down from the NOL Board. Mr Lim is currently a member of the Nominating Committee.

His vast experience garnered from many years of working in the logistics sector in different parts of the world will be instrumental to our desire to grow NOL’s global logistics business,” said NOL Chairman Kwa Chong Seng. “At the same time, we would like to express our gratitude to Olivier Lim. We appreciate and value his advice and guidance to the Board.”

Based in Zurich, Switzerland, Mr Sidler is a logistics and business services veteran with a distinguished career spanning more than 30 years in the industry, most of it with the Panalpina Group where he rose through the ranks to become its President and CEO in 1998, a position he held until 2006.  Mr Sidler held senior management roles at Ceva Logistics from 2007 to 2012, with his last appointment as its Chief Operating Officer and Member of the Executive Board.     Mr Sidler joined DKSH in 2013. The company has been active in Asia since 1865 and today employs over 26,000 people across the region, generating revenues in excess of US$ 9.5 billion.

Singapore-based Neptune Orient Lines is a leading shipping and terminal operator. The company operating in 140 countries under the names APL, APL Terminals and APL Logistics has a workforce of 11,000 employees. NOL Group operates, through its APL division, a modern fleet of 146 container ships, which is among the top 10 in the world. The average age of APL ships is nine years.
