Kontur LLC (Baltic Fuel Company Group) has acquired the Svyatitel Peotr tanker, BFC press center says. The vessel is intended for bunkering vessels with fresh water (some 400 m3) as well as for collecting of bilge waters (about 100 m3) from vessels in the water area of port of St. Petersburg.
BFC plans to buy another vessel of river-sea class this year to collect ship waste that is to contribute to protection of water bodies from environmental threats existing in the present. Besides, this service is in demand among ship owners as they now have an opportunity to fully meet environmental legislation.
The start package of agreements on ecological services contains over 30 contracts with shipping and agency companies interested in eco-service.
Characteristics of the tanker: Classs: КМ L4 R3 tanker (water)/oil recovery ship (>60◦C), type – liquid cargo carrier, built in 1964 in USSR, flag of Russia, registered in Big Port St. Petersburg, main propulsion engine - 1х480 kWt, gt/nt - 765/229, length - 49.59 m, width - 9 m, depth - 4 m.
