China Shipping Industry (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. (CICJS) last week signed design contracts of 64000DWT, 82000DWT and 105000DWT bulk carriers with Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute (SDARI), adding new fruits to strategic cooperation between shipyard and research institute in the marine industry, the Company said in a press release.
In recent years, CICJS speeds up the step of transformation and upgrading of products, and actively expands the shipbuilding market share. The above-mentioned series bulk carrier project is another important act of CICJS to enhance the efforts to operate main ship types and consolidate the bulk carrier market. Through strengthening cooperation with SDARI, CICJS will promote his independent research and development abilities, and will also participate in part production design work of the series of bulk carriers. By the time of pushing ahead with 10000TEU container ships, CICJS continues to improve the capacity, stabilizes the core competitiveness and makes strong brand of China Shipping shipbuilding.
