Russia needs 130 new cargo vessels (tankers, bulk cargo carriers) for operation at the Northern Sea Route, IAA PortNews journalist cites Boris Kabanov, representative of RF Ministry of Industry and Trade, as saying at the 2nd Marine Business Forum Germany-Russia in Saint-Petersburg.
In particular, Russia needs tankers with deadweight over 70,000 tonnes. Besides, 7 floating power stations are required to supply northern regions.
Total demand of Russia’s major customers numbers 1,200 vessels and marine facilities to be built by 2030.
