Strategic activity of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) is a technical surveying of offshore projects’ marine facilities and infrastructure, IAA PortNews journalist cites Pavel Shakhov, Deputy Director General of RS, as saying at the 12th International Conference on Commercial Shipbuilding, marine technologies for ocean and offshore development, ship repair, and production of ship equipment (within the framework of NEVA-2013).
“RS has been successfully working in this niche and accumulating the experience with implementation of projects on oil & gas field infrastructure development in northern regions: Prirazlomnoye field in the Barents Sea, Varandey terminal in the Pechora Sea, Kravtsovskoye field in the Baltic Sea, - he said. – In the Caspian Basin we supervise infrastructure facilities of Korchagin and Filanovsky fields. The Register also has everything required for future participation in Yamal LNG, Vladivostok LNG, Pechora LNG projects as well as for the development of Sarmatsky and Kashagansky fields.” RS is also engaged in technical surveying of the most advanced floating drilling units, like Polyarnayz Zvezda (Polar Star), Severnoye Siyaniye (Northern Light) and Arkticheskaya (Arctic).
Certification of marine pipelines has also become a priority activity for RS. The Register carries out technical surveying of production and installation of pipelines at Filanovsky field; has completed activities on classification of subsea gas pipeline Dzhugba-Lazarevskoye-Sochi, subsea oil pipelines of CPC-R' terminal; plans to participate in South Stream.
