Marine Board withholds approval of draft Strategy for USC development

Marine Board under the Government of the Russian Federation has withheld the approval of the draft strategy for the development of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) till 2030. As IAA PortNews journalist reports, the draft document was just taken into consideration. 

According to Dmitry Rogozin, Head of the Marine Board, the issue of integrating the consortium of investors with the Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center of the United Shipbuilding Corporation will be considered on October 2, 2013. Besides, a meeting with chief designers will be held, following which the updated strategy will be considered by the USC Presidium and approved by the USC Board of Directors. Then the document will be submitted to RF President. In compliance with the Presidential order, the Strategy should be completed by November 1, 2013.

The liveliest discussion of the Marine Board covered the issues related to integration of the consortium of oil & gas companies with USC assets in the Far East, plans to integrate design bureaus into corporations and USC cooperation with equipment and component suppliers.
